    Gate valve own a wedge within the valve body, by lifting the wedge, the gate valves allow the fluid to go through the path successfully. Generally speaking, the gate valves are designed to be fully opening or closing, thus having no function of throttling.

Big size gate valves generally possess gear operating device, they can be equipped with electric motor actuator for special use.
